Description
Finally after many questions we have made a poster of the Battle of Narva 20th of November 1700 (old Swedish calendar)
Painting is made by the talented military painter Marc Grieves.
On the morning 20th of November, “before sunrise,” it was ordered to give soldiers the charges and build the entire army. Among other instructions was the prohibition against opening fire earlier than 20–30 steps to the enemy.
The Swedes approached the Russian army at 10 a.m. and began to prepare for an attack. Charles and his generals examined the Russian position, and the soldiers stored the fascines to overcome the ditches surrounding it.
The painting is showing Nerike-Wermlands regiment when they where storming over the outer Russian fortifications just before lunch 20th of November.
Swedes had the luck by there side, just when the charge they get the snowstorm in there back so the Russians get partly blinded by the snow.
The poster is made of high quality gloss free paper.
Size is 70×50 cm
Made in a limited edition.
Poster comes without a frame, we have just mounted a poster in a frame just so you can see how it can look with a frame.
