The golden and silver galloons was a clear indicator that they were officers to both privates and enemies alike. This made officers in the field adopt a more inconspicuous design. The buttons were gold/brass and the pocket buttons indicated rank. 5 buttons indicated a lower rank officer and 7 buttons were for the senior ranks. A common misconception is that privates also had 5 buttons but they had in fact only 3 buttons. The rest of the uniform was blue. However, soon the enemy realised that they should aim for the people in all blue. This caused a shift among officers to have the regiment’s colours represented in the lining of the jacket but also at the cuff, but never the collar.

We have worked closely with historians and museums to create these officer jackets from the Carolean era. Our tailors sew this on-demand. This means lower prices for you but it will take 4 weeks to make your personalised jacket. Please check the table for sizes and if you want any alterations then send us an email and we can discuss your needs. If you are wearing a vest underneath then take that into account while measuring. However, special orders beyond standard sizes have an additional cost of SEK 400. Furthermore, we use quality material for all our products and our uniform jackets and wear use 100% wool and linen rather than blends. We believe that quality is in the details.

Snabbt märkte officerare att starka galoner i guld och silver gjorde dem till måltavlor av fiendens skott. Detta gjorde att offierar i fält valde en mer diskret typ av uniform som var hel blå. Men snart lärde sig fienden att sikta på de helblåa uniformerna. Som en reaktion till detta bar officerarna sitt regementes färger i uppslagen i ärmarna samt längs ner men aldrig kragen. De bar även knappar av mässing/guld för att förtydliga sin rang. Knapparna på rockens fickor avslöjade deras rang. En vanlig soldat hade 3 knappar, en underofficer 5 knappar, medans en högre officer hade hela 7 knappar.

Vi har arbetat tillsammans med historiker, arkiv, samt museum för att återskapa dessa karolinska officer uniformer från slutet av 1600-talet till början av 1700-talet.
Vänligen se storlekarna i bildgalleriet och om ni önskar längre eller kortare ärm eller totallängd skriv det i er order. Vid special mått tillkommer en kostnad av 400 kr. Om ni ska bära en kamisol under så ha det i åtanke när nu mäter era mått.
Vi syr på beställning för att hålla ned lagerkostnader vilket ger lägre pris till er. Så efter lagd order räkna med ca 4 veckor för att er produkt skall bli färdig. Vi använder 100% ylle och linne i våra uniformer och inte blandningar.
